The calendar and the chart are one system
Open an appointment in SideClick and the chart is right there: last session's note, outstanding invoices, outcome trends since intake. Book a follow-up from inside the session and it lands on the same record. Because scheduling is not a separate product bolted to the clinical side, nothing is copy-pasted between a booking tool and the chart, and nothing falls into the gap between them.
The mobile day sheet carries the same connected view out of the building: today's list with each patient's chart one tap away, on the way to a home visit or between school sessions.
Self-booking on your terms
Portal editions let patients book their own appointments, with two deliberate constraints. First, patients only see the availability you choose to publish, never your actual calendar. Second, self-booking rides the practice-controlled portal invitation, so who gets to book online is always your decision.
For the calendars you already live in, SideClick publishes ICS feeds. Your phone's calendar shows the clinic day without any other tool being handed your patient list.

How it works in practice
A front desk running on SideClick books, reschedules and fills cancellations from one screen while clinicians see the changes on their own machines as sync delivers them. A solo practitioner does the same job from the chart between patients. Either way the appointment is the spine of the visit: the note attaches to it, the invoice raises from it, and tomorrow's day sheet is built from it.
Fewer holes in the week
If the practice opts in, an on-device model flags bookings that look fragile so you can confirm them or double-book deliberately. The flag is a suggestion computed locally, like every AI feature in the product; the calendar never acts on its own.

Questions, answered
Can patients book their own appointments?
Yes, on Portal editions. Patients book against availability you publish through the patient portal; they never see your raw calendar, and portal access itself is by practice invitation.
Does SideClick sync with Google or Outlook calendars?
SideClick publishes ICS feeds that Google Calendar, Outlook and Apple Calendar subscribe to. Your appointments appear in those calendars without any third-party tool getting write access to your patient data.
Can the front desk manage the whole practice's diary?
Yes. Front-desk accounts are free (they never consume a practitioner seat) and can manage the calendar across the practice on Practice editions and above.
What does the no-show flag actually do?
If you opt in, an on-device model marks bookings with a higher risk of not being kept, so you can confirm or overbook deliberately. It suggests; it never cancels, messages or double-books on its own.
