Refund Policy

How refunds work for purchases made through Paddle, the time limits that apply, and what a refund means for your licence and your data.

SideClick Refund Policy

This policy explains how refunds work for SideClick purchases and what a refund means for your licence. Purchases are processed by Paddle as merchant of record (Terms of Service §3), so the refund of a purchase price is decided and paid by Paddle under its own refund policy. This page tells you what that means in practice.

1. Who handles refunds, and how to ask

Your contract of sale for the payment itself is with Paddle: Paddle takes the payment, collects tax, issues the invoice and receipt, and pays any refund. SideClick issues your licence key. To ask for a refund, use either route — both reach the same outcome:

  • Paddle's buyer support at paddle.net, quoting the order number on your receipt; or
  • support@sideclick.io — we pass the request to Paddle and confirm the outcome to you.

2. Try before you buy

Every edition has a 30-day free trial that needs no card, so you can test SideClick on your own machines before paying anything. Please use it: it is the best protection against buying software that does not fit your practice.

3. When a refund is given

  • Within 14 days of a purchase. If you ask within 14 days of the transaction date, Paddle may refund the purchase price at its discretion. Asking inside the window does not guarantee a refund; each request is reviewed individually, and substantial use of the software during that period may count against it.
  • Your statutory rights. Where the consumer-protection law of your country gives you a right to withdraw from a purchase or to a refund, that right applies and overrides this policy. Consumers in the European Union, the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom have a 14-day right to withdraw from a one-off purchase or from the first payment of a subscription, unless they started using the product during that period.
  • Renewals. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period; the price and the renewal date are shown at checkout and on every receipt (Terms of Service §5). If a renewal is charged that you did not intend, contact us or Paddle within 14 days of the charge and it is reviewed on the same basis as a new purchase. Outside that window, and except where the law that applies to you requires otherwise, the unused part of a paid period is not refunded; cancelling stops the next charge and keeps your service until the end of the period you have paid for.
  • Software that does not work as described. If SideClick materially fails to do what our documentation says it does and we cannot put it right within a reasonable time, we will ask Paddle to refund you, whether or not the 14-day window has passed. This does not limit any warranty or remedy the law gives you (EULA §12).

4. What happens to your licence after a refund

When a purchase is refunded or charged back, the licence key issued for it is revoked (Terms of Service §9). A revoked key can no longer be re-downloaded or activated on new machines, and the sync relay, patient portal publication and other online services stop for that key. Your installed software and your data are not touched: everything already on your machines stays readable and exportable under the data-access guarantees in the EULA §7. A refund never locks you out of your own records.

5. Chargebacks

Please contact us or Paddle before raising a dispute with your card issuer; almost every problem is resolved faster that way. A chargeback is treated like a refund: the key is revoked, and the data on your machines stays yours.

6. How a refund is paid

Paddle pays approved refunds to the payment method used for the purchase. How quickly the credit appears depends on your bank or card issuer.
