Billing from inside the chart

SideClick's billing turns a session into an invoice from the patient record itself and tracks it to paid, so the money side of a case lives with the clinical side instead of in a separate spreadsheet.

What billing covers

SideClick generates invoices from sessions, tracks their payment state, and keeps the whole billing history on the patient record next to the notes and appointments it belongs to. Reception can raise the invoice before the patient reaches the door; a solo practitioner can do it in the ten seconds after the note is signed.

Reconciliation stays boring, in the good sense. Each invoice is either outstanding or paid, the patient's balance is visible on their chart, and month-end is an export rather than an archaeology project.

Codes suggested, never submitted for you

If you opt in, the on-device assistant suggests billing codes for a session, drawn only from your region's code set. The constraint is structural: the assistant cannot propose a code that does not exist where you practise. You approve every code before it appears on an invoice.

One honest boundary, stated plainly: SideClick does not submit insurance claims on your behalf. There is no clearinghouse integration. Your invoices and records export cleanly to whatever claims process your region and funders use, and we would rather say that here than let you discover it after purchase.

How it works in practice

The session ends, the note is signed, and the invoice raises from the same screen with the service and any approved codes attached. The patient pays however your practice takes payment, you mark it settled, and the PDF goes out through the patient portal or your usual channel. The accountant gets a CSV at month end instead of a shoebox.

The same audit rules as the clinical record

Every billing action lands in the same tamper-evident audit trail as clinical writes. Money disputes are rare in a small practice, but when one happens, the record of who raised, edited and settled an invoice is already there.

Editions

Billing ships complete in every edition, Solo included. There is no separate billing add-on and no per-invoice fee from us; the pricing page explains what the editions actually differ on.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Does SideClick submit insurance claims?

No, deliberately. SideClick raises invoices, tracks payments and exports clean records (PDF, CSV, FHIR) for whatever claims process you use, but it does not integrate with clearinghouses or submit claims on your behalf.

Are the billing-code suggestions safe to rely on?

They are drafts, not decisions: the opt-in assistant proposes codes only from your region's code set, and nothing reaches an invoice until you approve it. You remain the biller of record.

Can I take card payments through SideClick?

SideClick tracks invoices and payment state; it does not process card payments itself. Practices keep whatever payment terminal or transfer arrangement they already use and record the outcome on the invoice.

How do I get billing data to my accountant?

CSV export, any time, in every licence state. Invoices themselves export as PDF for patients and funders.
