Messages

Secure messaging between the people of the practice, one thread per subject about a patient, encrypted end to end.

In SideClick: Messages

Messages is secure messaging between the people of the practice, each thread about one patient. Threads are end-to-end encrypted: the subject and every message can be read only with the participants' keys.

New thread asks for the patient and a subject, then opens the thread. Everyone who may read messages when the thread is made is a participant from the start.

The list on the left shows each thread's subject, the patient, when it was last active and, as a badge, how many messages you have not read. Opening a thread is the read receipt: it marks the thread read, and under your own messages you see when they were read. A thread your account holds no key for shows a lock and No access; ask an existing participant to add you.

Write in the box at the bottom and press Enter, or Send. Close ends a thread — nothing more can be sent until Reopen — and a closed thread says closed in the list.

Patients do not use this screen; they are never participants.
