Waitlist

The patients waiting for an appointment, and where a slot freed by a cancellation is confirmed or released.

In SideClick: Schedule → Waitlist

The Waitlist is the patients waiting for an appointment, and where a slot freed by a cancellation is confirmed or released.

Add entry names the patient, a practitioner or Any practitioner, the earliest date they would accept and a priority. A higher priority is offered a freed slot first; among equal priorities, the earlier acceptable date comes first.

When a future appointment is cancelled, its slot is held for the best entry that accepts the slot's time and practitioner, and that entry shows offered — awaiting confirmation. Nobody is booked into a slot they do not know about: contact the patient, then choose Confirm to book the appointment, with a reminder scheduled, or Release to pass the slot to the next entry. The screen says what happened — the slot went to the next entry, or it is open again because no entry accepts it.

Remove takes an active entry off the list. Show resolved adds fulfilled and cancelled entries to the list, and a fulfilled entry says so.

When a patient is likely not to come, Today can suggest releasing their slot to the waitlist. That suggestion is switched on under AI governance, and releasing is always a choice you make.

Only someone who may write to the schedule sees Add entry, Confirm, Release and Remove.
