In SideClick: Data requests
Privacy law gives every patient the right to ask what the practice holds about them, receive a copy of it, have mistakes corrected, or have their records erased. Log each such request here so nothing is missed: the screen counts every open request down to its legal deadline, shown as the days remaining, and warns at the top when a request is due soon or overdue.
New request names the patient and the kind of request, Access, Erasure, Portability or Rectification, and Submit logs it with today's date. Each request shows its status: pending, processing, completed or rejected. Mark complete closes it.
An erasure request has Execute erasure. The confirmation says exactly what will happen: the patient's sealed content on this computer is zeroed and the record's keys destroyed, except signed clinical notes still inside the retention period the record's keeper typed, the practice's number for the practice's record and your own for a copy you hold, which are kept and flagged as retained. If no keeper has typed a period, nothing is kept on that ground. Erase permanently cannot be undone.
Whether a retained note is deleted later is that keeper's Keep or Delete on the Retention screen.
A request is answered from the records this computer holds, so the screen is worked on a computer.
