Each device of yours has to reach the sync server now and then. One that goes longer than your limit without reaching it erases SideClick's data on itself, and shows a screen that says so. It is the one protection that still works on a device kept offline on purpose, and it cannot be turned off; the limit is yours to set under Settings → Your devices.
What was erased: everything the app kept on that device — its copy of your records and its keys.
What was kept: everything that had reached the sync server before the device went quiet. Every entry is sent the moment it is written when the device is online, so that is normally all of it. Entries the device had written while offline and not yet sent were erased with it, and there is no way to bring those back.
To carry on, sign in again on the device with your email and password. It asks to be approved from another of your devices, or with your recovery code, and then fetches your records from the sync server afresh.
If this keeps happening to a device you use rarely, lengthen the limit, or open the app on it now and then while it is online: reaching the server once starts the count again.
