Backup & Recovery

An encrypted file of everything on this computer, in your own keeping, with the health check and the secure wipe.

In SideClick: Settings → Backup & Recovery

Backup & Recovery is for an administrator, and its actions run on a computer. Nothing is uploaded from here: every entry you write already reaches the sync server sealed. A backup is your own file of everything on this computer.

Export everything writes one passphrase-encrypted archive — the database, attachments and keys — and, beside it, one readable CSV of clinical notes for each patient with active consent, in the exports folder. Choose a passphrase, type it twice and tick that you have saved it: without it the archive cannot be opened, and nobody can recover it. The result says what the archive contains.

Automatic backups show only on a computer. Enable automatic backups stores the passphrase encrypted so archives can be written unattended, Daily or Weekly, in the app's auto-backups folder. Older archives beyond Backups to keep (up to 50 archives) are deleted; manual exports are never touched. Warn when no backup for shows administrators a banner when the newest backup is older than that many days, 14 days unless you change it; zero turns the warning off. Disable and delete stored passphrase stops it.

Restore happens on the sign-in screen of a new or wiped computer: choose Restore from backup, pick the archive, enter its passphrase and set a new local vault password. Your authenticator app stays as it is; it belongs to your account.

Run health check checks the database, the audit chain and the model registry, and says what failed.

Securely wipe this device permanently destroys the database, keys and attachments on this computer. Export a backup first, then type WIPE to confirm; the app returns to the sign-in screen.
