Set a new password

Your new password replaces your personal key; every other device signs in again with it, and you get a new recovery code.

In SideClick: Create your account → Set a password

Set a new password is reached from Settings → Session & Security and from Your devices — and, without a choice, after a device of yours was marked as lost: every device was signed out then, and this is the next screen.

Type the new password twice, then Set new password. Your new password replaces your personal key, and every other device of yours signs in again with it.

On a computer the same password opens your records: this computer is updated in the same step, so one password opens everything. A computer that was signed out everywhere asks for your current password first, which proves it is you in place of a session.

The new recovery code is shown once straight afterwards; type it back to continue. Keep it safe: it replaces the old one, which stops working.

After a loss, the keys the lost device held are replaced in the background, and your other devices open your records again once they have signed in with the new password.

If this computer could not be updated to the new password, the screen says so and offers Try again. Until then it still opens with your previous password, and the next sign-in asks for it once.
