SideClick's AI runs on the computer and nowhere else. The language model is downloaded once, checked against its expected contents, and runs on this machine; no session content, patient detail or generated text is ever sent to a server. The features are decision support — a draft to review, a summary, a flag to look at — never a diagnosis and never a decision taken for you.
It is off until you say so. The first sign-in on a computer asks, after the privacy notice, whether to enable AI note generation; Not now is a fine answer, and the switch is on My profile from then on. Choosing it starts the download in the background, with progress shown in the corner of the screen.
The patient's consent comes next, and it is checked at the point of generation. A patient who has not consented to AI note generation, or has withdrawn it, gets no draft, no summary and no dictation; the Consent screen and the patient's record both show where they stand.
Guardrails apply to every generation, and a violation is logged where an administrator can read it. Every draft is reviewed and signed by you before it is part of the record.
Dictation is on the computer too, and in English for now: Apple's speech recognition on a Mac, and a separate speech process on Windows with a small dictation model, downloaded on request. A voice memo captured on a phone is transcribed on the computer, and the transcript is reviewed before any of it is appended to the session notes.
The phone app and the browser have no AI features: they are on the computer only.
Nothing about the AI reaches the sync server, because nothing the AI touches leaves the computer.
