Import data

Import data brings patients and historical session notes across from another practice system, from CSV files. It runs on a computer only; your other devices receive what you import through the sync server.

Choose what you are importing: Patients (client list) or Historical session notes. Import patients first — each note row is matched to a patient by MRN, or by name plus date of birth. If you open files in more than one practice, choose which practice the imported patient files belong to; its practice owners see them.

Coming from picks the system you are moving from, so its column mapping is applied; Detect from the file applies a mapping only when the column names make it sure. SideClick template takes the generic CSV: Save blank template… writes one with the expected columns, and everyday column names such as First name, Surname or Date of birth work too. Source system is recorded on every imported note as its origin.

Choose CSV file… reads the file and shows Review before importing: how many rows are ready, which columns were found or are missing, rows that look like patients you already have (Skip them or Import them anyway), and the rows with a problem, by line, that will not be imported. When another system's mapping was applied, the preview also lists what that system's export is known to leave out, with the address of its export instructions.

Import runs the rows that are ready and reports what was created, skipped and failed. Keep the window open until it finishes. Creating new records needs a seat: when your trial has ended and you hold none, an import of patients is refused.
