Changing the treating clinician

Inside the practice a patient passes to a colleague by naming them the treating clinician: they receive every key of the file and continue it, with the earlier entries underneath.

Every patient file has a treating clinician: the practice owner or associate who treats the patient and sees the record by right. To pass a patient to a colleague of the practice, change the treating clinician on the patient's Who can see this record, from your computer. A practice owner, or the clinician who treats the patient, names a current practice owner or associate of the practice.

The colleague receives every key of the file — its identity and money keys and the keys of every entry already written — and continues it: the earlier entries stay as they were signed, and the colleague writes their own after them. There is no grant, no end date and nothing to end. It is logged.

This is how a patient is passed to a colleague, how a patient who arrived during a colleague's leave is taken on, and how a leaver's patients are assigned. When someone leaves the practice, People who left on Practice and people lists each of their patients, to assign to a clinician or to mark Left with them; a patient left unassigned cannot be booked until someone takes them.

The front desk cannot change a treating clinician, with one exception: a leaver's patient, from People who left, while the patient's clinician is a former member of the practice. Everything else is a practice owner's or the treating clinician's to do.

A clinician outside the practice is not a colleague: a patient goes to them by a handover, and the app refuses a change of treating clinician to anyone but a current practice owner or associate.
