New patient

Open a patient file: the patient's identity and contact details, then the purposes they consent to.

In SideClick: Patients → New patient

New patient opens a file, on a computer. Only a practice owner, an associate or the front desk opens one; an assistant is told so at the top, because their supervising clinician assigns patients to them.

Given name and family name are required; everything else can be filled in later. The date of birth is chosen as a day, a month and a year, and a half-entered date is refused rather than saved as no date. MRN is the file's medical record number. Region starts as your practice's region.

If you work in more than one practice, choose which practice the file belongs to: its practice owners see it. With one practice there is nothing to ask.

Create patient saves the file and moves to Consent selection: tick the purposes the patient agreed to. Storing health records is required and already ticked; the purpose marked Enables AI note generation lets the on-device AI draft this patient's notes. Each consent recorded here is recorded as verbal and can be changed later on the Consent screen. Save consent & continue records them and opens the record; Skip opens the record without recording any.

If your evaluation has ended and you hold no seat, a notice at the top says that new records need a seat; existing records stay readable.
