When SideClick or the sync server refuses something, the message says why. The common kinds:
- Who may do it. Only a practice owner can do that; only the clinician who treats a patient, or a practice owner, arranges cover, sends a copy, hands over, changes the treating clinician or discharges them; only the assistant's own supervising clinician co-signs; nobody signs another person's draft. A grant never raises your role, and a record held through someone else's cover or handover cannot be passed on.
- Who it may go to. Cover is by a colleague of the same practice; a copy or a handover goes to a clinician at another practice; an assignment to an assistant of this practice. A clinician from outside covers as a member until a date.
- What is missing. The patient's consent to sharing; a signed entry (a draft never goes in a copy); a cover's end date; a reason to keep a record on hold; the typed word to delete one; the practice's number of years.
- Not here. A copy, a handover, a discharge and a cover are given on your computer, where the consent is recorded.
- Not yet. This computer has not heard about your practice; the file's keys arrive when a practice owner's computer is next online; the sync server does not know the record yet.
- Seats. An owner, associate or assistant needs a clinician seat; the free seats are for a front desk or bookkeeper only; a seat has no room for another device or computer.
- Gone. The practice has deleted this record and the server removed it; an entry written at a practice you have left is history here; a copy is read-only.
When the message names something to do first, doing that is the fix.
Related
- Cover while you're awayA colleague of your profession in your practice sees and writes in your patients' records from a date until a date; when the cover ends, what they borrowed is destroyed and their own notes stay.
- Sending a copy to another professionA copy is sent once, on the patient's recorded consent: the other clinician holds the patient's details and the signed entries you chose, read-only, and nothing written afterwards reaches them.
- Handing over a patientA patient moves to a clinician at another practice with their history: the earlier entries are read-only for the receiver, who adds their own after them.
- Changing the treating clinicianInside the practice a patient passes to a colleague by naming them the treating clinician: they receive every key of the file and continue it, with the earlier entries underneath.
- Assistants and co-signatureAn assistant works under a named supervising clinician, sees only the patients assigned to them, and writes notes that wait for the supervising clinician's co-signature or come back for changes.
- Keepers and retentionEvery copy of a record has one keeper, who types their own number of years; when a record passes it, the keeper chooses Keep or Delete, and the app never deletes on its own.
- SeatsEveryone who signs in holds a seat — a free trial or a subscription — and every clinician seat comes with a free seat for a front desk or bookkeeper.
- Sync waitingWhat the Waiting to send badge means, why an entry waits or is refused, and when it clears.
